
Bruce is a proud Colorado native, born in Denver and raised in Grand Junction. He received his baccalaureate degree from Willamette University and his law degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Bruce began practicing law in 1978 with Elder & Phillips, which was originally founded by his father, Walter J. Phillips and partner Tom Elder. Bruce's areas of focus center on real estate law, contracts, estate planning, wills, trusts, and probate.
In addition to his work at the firm, Bruce also represents real estate brokers and associations of Realtors. In past years, Bruce has worked as a instructor at the University of Colorado teaching continuing education courses in real estate, served as President of the Mesa County Bar Association, and was a member of the board of governors of the Colorado Bar Association. Outside of the legal world, he has volunteered as a youth soccer coach for over 20 years, served on the board of directors for the Pro Bono Project and Optimist Club of Grand Junction, and is currently serving on the board of directors for Habitat for Humanity.
Bruce enjoys hiking, fishing, golf, skiing and a host of other recreational activities that Western Colorado has to offer with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
